Men’s Lacrosse Rolls Past Mitchell, 25-2

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier men's lacrosse team used goals from 13 different student-athletes as the Raiders rolled to a 25-2 victory over Mitchell in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Merrill Field on Saturday afternoon.

Rivier improved to 6-5 (4-2 GNAC) while the Mariners remain winless.

Michael Zapatka led the scoring with five goals and two assists. Michael Ference recorded six points with a hat trick. David Lee notched four goals and an assist. Owen McDuffie, Ryan Jolicoeur, Kyle Such, Rhys Bridges, and Jack Johnson scored their first collegiate goals in the triumph.

Sam Tibbetts earned the win in net after playing the first half. Curtis Michaud and Ryan Palmer split the second half in between the pipes.

Rivier finished 15-for-17 on clear attempts while limiting the Mariners to a 28.6% conversion rate. The Raiders won 25 of 30 faceoffs, with McDuffie nabbing 13 and Noah Zeman coming away with 12. Each player also recorded a team-high eight ground balls.

The Raiders will travel to play Wheaton (Mass.) on Tuesday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. in a non-conference battle at the Diane Nordin Athletic Field.
