Men's Lacrosse Sails Past the Pride, 17-8

NASHUA, N.H. — Connor Eck recorded the 100th goal of his career in the Raiders 17-8 win over Regis (Mass.) on Tuesday night at Merrill Field.

The Raiders are now 5-5 (3-2 GNAC), with the Pride falling to 5-3 (1-3 GNAC).

Rivier would go ahead early, taking an 8-2 lead after the first quarter. Chris Heitmiller, Coby Mercier, and Michael Zapatka, all collected two goals in the opening frame. Sean Callinan and Joseph O'Reilly added on with a goal apiece.

Eck started off the second quarter for the Raiders by rocketing in a shot just 1:27 into the period. Sawyer Hall followed this up a minute later with a goal of his own to make it 10-2. Mercier, Zapatka, and Nicholas Tavares all contributed with another tally before Eck collected his 100th career goal in the second quarter at 4:53 thanks to a feed from Zapatka.

Michael Ference scored the two final goals of the game for Riv in the middle of the third, which would be more than enough to hang on for the win.

Samuel Tibbetts got the start for the Raiders in net, making eight saves. Curtis Michaud and Ryan Palmer each saw time in between the pipes.

The Raiders will continue their homestand on Saturday, April 6 when they take on Mitchell in a GNAC matchup set to begin at 2:30 p.m. at Merrill Field.
