Men’s Ice Hockey Falls to Falcons

NASHUA, NH: Rivier men's ice hockey lost to Albertus Magnus College this evening at Conway Arena.   

THE BASICS:

- Date: 1/28/23

- Score: Albertus Magnus 3, Rivier 1

- Records: Rivier (6-12-2), Albertus Magnus (16-6-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- It was a quiet first period with no goals scored.

- Falcons' Sam Anderson scored a power play goal in the second period with the assist from Cameron Weitzman. Later on in the period, Aidan Patterson found the back of the net and the assist was credited to Weitzman.

- Less than a minute into the third period, Josh Sanchez (Potsdam, NY) skated by the Falcons' defenders to collect an unassisted goal for Riv. Anderson of Alburtus Magnus scored an empty net goal late in the period, which was his second goal of the game.

- Luke Newell (Littleton, CO) had 22 saves in net tonight for the Raiders. Joseph Giacobbo saved 20 shots for the Falcons, earning the win.

- Penalties: Rivier 10 minutes on 5 infractions, Albertus Magnus 6 minutes on 3 infractions

- Power Plays: Albertus Magnus was 1-for-5, River was 0-for-3
