Men’s Hockey Takes Down Stonehill

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier men's hockey team took down Stonehill College this evening in a makeup contest 3-1. Raider tender Andrew LoRusso (Peabody, MA) racked up 37 saves in the win.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/5/2022

- Score: Rivier 3, Stonehill 1

- Records: Rivier (5-12-2), Stonehill (2-10-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The first period ended in a 1-1 draw. The Raiders got on the board first just 56 seconds into the period. Milan Breczko (Klasterec, CZR) netted his 14th goal of the season. The Skyhawks responded 14 minutes later with their equalizer by John Peloso.  

- The Raiders continued their hot second period streak with another two goals to go up 3-1. Breczko scored again to start the second period on a power play. Just 19 seconds later, Bryan Van Ness (New York, NY) would add on the game's final goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: Rivier 40, Stonehill 38

-  Penalties: Stonehill 18 minutes on 9 infractions, Rivier 8 minutes on 4 infractions

-  Power Play: Rivier was one for 9, Stonehill was 0 for 4.

- Rivier men's hockey as of now, is scheduled to go back to Albertus Magnus for a 4 pm game on Tuesday.
