Men’s Hockey Takes Down Stonehill

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier men's hockey team took down Stonehill College this evening in a makeup contest 3-1. Raider tender Andrew LoRusso (Peabody, MA) racked up 37 saves in the win.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/5/2022

- Score: Rivier 3, Stonehill 1

- Records: Rivier (5-12-2), Stonehill (2-10-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The first period ended in a 1-1 draw. The Raiders got on the board first just 56 seconds into the period. Milan Breczko (Klasterec, CZR) netted his 14^th goal of the season. The Skyhawks responded 14 minutes later with their equalizer by John Peloso.  

- The Raiders continued their hot second period streak with another two goals to go up 3-1. Breczko scored again to start the second period on a power play. Just 19 seconds later, Bryan Van Ness (New York, NY) would add on the game's final goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: Rivier 40, Stonehill 38

-  Penalties: Stonehill 18 minutes on 9 infractions, Rivier 8 minutes on 4 infractions

-  Power Play: Rivier was one for 9, Stonehill was 0 for 4.
