Men’s Hockey Falls to Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, CT: The Rivier men's hockey team fell this evening to Albertus Magnus by a score of 7-4.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/1/2022

- Score: AMC 7, Rivier 4

- Records: AMC (13-5-1), Rivier (4-12-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Falcons jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first period. All four goals were scored by different Albertus student-athletes.

- The second period was the most productive for the Raiders as they outscored Albertus 3-2 to get the overall score of 6-3. Rivier broke the 4-0 AMC run with an Ashton Jones (South Lyon, MI) goal. The Falcons would add their two next from Colt Corpse and Charles Risk. The Raiders would end the period on a 2-0 run, with both goals coming for Tyler Duderstadt (Sewickley, PA). His second goal of the period was on a power play.

- The third only saw two goals, both coming via the power play by each team. Milan Breczko (Klasterec, CZR) would strike last for the Raiders right after Alex Gagnon's second goal of the day for Albertus.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Luke Newell (Littleton, CO) made 36 saves in the loss, putting him a 4-8-2 on the season.

-  Shots: AMC 43, Rivier 23

-  Power Plays: Rivier 2 for 3, Albertus 1 for 1.
