SNHU Skates Past Men’s Hockey

HOOKSETT, NH: The Rivier men's hockey team fell to Southern New Hampshire University this evening in a lopsided affair.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 1/28/2022

- Score: SNHU 5, Rivier 1

- Records: SNHU (11-4), Rivier (4-11-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Penmen put in three goals in the first period to Rivier's one. Cole Stewart, Matt Monreal, and Travis Quigley all found the back on the net in the first for SNHU. The Raiders goal came at the 13:48 mark off of Ryan Nolte's (Canton, MA) stick on the power play.   

- The second period would see the Penmen add onto their lead with two more goals by Andy Summerville. He would score both his goals during a power play.

- Andrew LoRusso (Peabody, MA) came in the third period and saved all 12 shots that he saw against him.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: SNHU 39, Rivier 28

-  Saves: Rivier 34, SNHU 27

-  Penalties: Rivier 14 minutes on 7 infractions. SNHU had 16 minutes on 8 infractions.

UP NEXT:

- Rivier men's hockey will be back on the ice Tuesday the 1st against Albertus Magnus with the puck drop coming at 7 pm.
