Late Third Period Goal Leads to Men’s Hockey Tie with Morrisville

MORRISVILLE, NY: The Rivier men's hockey team took the lead in the third period and was unable to hold on as SUNY Morrisville tied it up to get the final of 1-1.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 11/20/2021

- Score: Rivier 1, Morrisville 1

- Records: Morrisville (1-5-1), Rivier (3-3-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The contest was scoreless as both tenders were racked up over 20 saves each. Luke Newell (Littleton, CO) continues to be a wall in net for the Raiders after having another high save game of 29. The Mustangs tender Owen Liskiewicz had 23 saves of his own.

-  Rivier struck first in the third period just 37 seconds in. Carson Fotheringham (Rochester, NY) found the back of the net for the Raiders.

- The visiting team would hold that lead for 17 minutes before the Mustangs tied it up on an Eric Melso goal. Neither team would be able to score in the overtime period ending the contest in a draw.
