Men’s Hockey Suffers Setback to Saint Anselm

MANCHESTER, NH: The Rivier men's hockey team fell this evening to Saint Anselm in non-conference action by a score of 4-1.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/30/2021

- Score: St. A's 4, Rivier 1

- Records: St. A's (1-0), Rivier (1-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Hawks of St. A's took the lead 10:41 into the first period on a Will Christensen goal to give the home team a 1-0 advantage. Saint Anselm would tack on one more in the second period off the stick of Andrew Andary at 9:58 into the period. Andary's goal came via the power play.

- Rivier would find themselves down just one after Colby Audette (Colchester, VT) would find the back on the net. However, this would be as close as they would get in the third period as the Hawks would go on to score two empty net goals to push their lead to three to close it out.  

- Andrew LoRusso (Peabody, MA) would be tagged with the loss tonight in net for the Raiders after seeing 35 shots in which he saved 33.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: St. A's 37, Rivier 25

-  Penalties: Rivier 6 minutes on three infractions, St. A's 12 minutes on six infractions

-  Power Plays: Rivier 0 for 5, St. A's 1 for 2
