Baguidy’s Three in OT Lifts Men’s Basketball Over Colby-Sawyer, 80-77

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Raiders used a clutch three-pointer from Robenson Baguidy with 54 seconds left in overtime which would serve as the eventual game-winner in an 80-77 victory for the Rivier men's basketball team on the road against Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday night at the Hogan Sports Center.

The Raiders snapped a four-game skid to improve to 13-9 (5-7 GNAC) while the Chargers dipped to 9-14 (5-6 GNAC). Rivier continues to add to its historic season as they notched 13 wins for the first time since the 2008-09 team finished 16-13.

Graduate standout Nikolas Pignone knocked down seven three-pointers in the victory, tying the program record for threes made in a career (204), set by Nick Bean '11.

After Colby-Sawyer tied the game at the end of regulation, Baguidy's three combined with clutch free-throws by Odarius Cade and Devin Owens sealed the victory for the Raiders with the GNAC postseason looming.

Rivier outrebounded the Chargers by nine, 48-39, in the triumph.

Pignone led the scoring effort for the Raiders, notching 23 points on 44.4% shooting. Baguidy's 17 points were good for second on the squad, while the guard also hauled in eight boards.

Rivier hits the road for another GNAC battle against Dean on Saturday, Feb. 10 with a 3:00 p.m. scheduled from Pieri Gymnasium.
