Men’s Basketball Falls to Saint Joseph (Conn.)

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier men's basketball team fell to Saint Joseph (Conn.) in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon at the Muldoon Center, 80-52.

The Raiders dropped their second straight conference matchup to fall to 10-4 (3-2 GNAC) while the Blue Jays won their fourth straight contest to improve to 12-4 (5-0 GNAC).

After keeping it to a 35-30 deficit at halftime, Rivier was unable to keep up with the Blue Jays' strong offensive pressure throughout the final 20 minutes as the visitors racked up a 29-point lead.

Devin Owens finished with a team-high 16 points on 7-of-15 (46.7%) shooting. Ra'Quan Groves recorded 10 points and eight rebounds.

Rivier will return to home court on Tuesday, Jan. 16 in another GNAC showdown, this time against Anna Maria, on Youth Sports Night. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
