Owens Earns GNAC Player of the Week Honors
WINTHROP, Mass. – Rivier men's basketball senior guard Devin Owens was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week following his 34-point performance, a season-best, in an 84-66 conference victory over New England College on Saturday afternoon in Henniker.
Owens went 13-for-24 shooting, hitting 7 of 12 from three-point range. The Irvine, Calif. native finished one rebound shy of a double-double while also recording three assists and one block.
The victory marked the fourth in a row for the Raiders and kept their GNAC record unblemished at 3-0 as the team advanced to 9-2 (3-0 GNAC).
Owens and the Raiders won their Monday evening contest against Lesley and are set to return to GNAC play in a road matchup at Norwich on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 7:00 p.m. from Andrews Hall Gymnasium.
