Rivier Men’s Basketball Announces Coaching Staff Ahead of 2023-24 Campaign

NASHUA, N.H. – As the Rivier men's basketball team approaches Thursday, Nov. 9's season opener against Roger Williams, first-year head coach Tom Glynn has announced his assistant coaches for the 2023-24 campaign. Joining Glynn on the bench for the campaign are Bruce MarchandKenny Stocklinski, and Heber Honore

Marchand catches up with Glynn after serving as his team manager while a senior at Nichols College in 2017-18. Most recently, Marchand served as an assistant coach at Quinsigamond Community College, where he helped lead the team to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 21 Final Four for the first time in nearly a decade. During his two-year stint with the Wyverns, he also helped recruit an all-region player, and implemented scouting reports of opponents into the weekly routine.

During this time frame, Marchand was also the head coach and team advisor of the Worcester Majors ABA program. With the Majors, he hired coaching staff, oversaw all staff and players, and reported to ownership on day-to-day operations.

Marchand has served as a coach with the Central Mass Dynasty Basketball Club since 2019 and the Boston Warriors AAU Basketball since 2017 assisting with operations and player development.

From 2018 to 2020, Marchand was the junior varsity boys' basketball head coach at Abby Kelly Foster Charter High School.

"I am very excited and honored to join the Rivier Athletics family. I am extremely grateful and fortunate to be working with Coach Glynn. He is one of the best coaches in New England and produces winning teams year in and year out," said Marchand. "I am happy to be part of the next phase of his career as we reign in this new era of Rivier men's basketball."

Stocklinski comes to Rivier after a one-year appointment as an assistant varsity girls' basketball coach at Lowell Catholic High School in 2022-23, helping lead them to an 8-4 league ledger.

Prior to this role with the Crusaders, Stocklinski was the women's basketball graduate assistant coach at Ouachita Baptist University. His day-to-day operations included assisting with set-up and break-down at practices, directing recruiting calls and visits, implementing individual workout programs, and managing all practice statistics and game film.

During his undergraduate days, Stocklinski spent time working with Coastal Carolina Athletics as a videographer, intern, and marketing assistant for the Chanticleers' women's basketball team before graduating in 2020.

"I'm super excited to be a part of something new and fresh with Coach Glynn." Said Stocklinski. "I'm excited to be a part of the change and building of a culture and program as we lay our mark on it and I can't wait to utilize the pieces that we have between new and returning players to provide the Nashua community with a successful and fun experience at each game."

While in South Carolina, Stocklinski served as a tournament director and scout at Big Shots from 2016 to 17. He had the opportunity to scout over 300 players throughout four states, create evaluations of over 1,000 athletes, direct and manage tournaments, and promote Big Shots Tournaments across the country.

Working with the Raiders will be Honore's first time working with a college program despite years of experience at the AAU level. Honore most recently worked with the Mass Rivals from 2014 to 2019 after assisting the Middlesex Magic from 2010 to 2013.

Over the past few summers, Honore has helped train players with Ferguson Basketball.

"I am so thankful and excited to be part of the Rivier men's basketball team and take this opportunity to finally work with Coach Glynn," said Honore. "I truly appreciate this opportunity to help jumpstart my collegiate coaching career. I look forward to helping this program make and exceed all goals for this new upcoming chapter."

The Rivier men's basketball team will conclude its pre-season slate on Monday, Nov. 6 when it travels to the Mill City to take on Division I UMass Lowell at 6:00 p.m. at Costello Gymnasium.
