Men’s Basketball Falls to Cadets

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier men's basketball team fell to Norwich University this evening in conference action.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/17/22

- Score: Norwich 79, Rivier 73

- Records: Norwich (14-10, 9-7 GNAC), Rivier (9-14, 5-11 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The first half started with the Cadets taking the lead and holding it for the majority of the half. But the Raiders clawed back into the game and were able to overtake the visiting team before the break on an 18 point first half by Miles Gillette (Washington, DC).

- The second half quickly saw the Raiders three-point lead disappear, with Samuel-Noah Osarenkhoe taking over the game. After scoring 14 in the first half, he would go off for another 16 in the second. He would make four three-point shots alone in the half, going 6-of-9 shooting. Solid defense from the Cadets Kohlby Murray would add three steals and ten more points for the team.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Osarenkhoe had a game high 30 points.

-  Gillette would have a team high 26 points along with 17 rebounds.

-  Shooting %: Norwich 45.1, Rivier 39.1

UP NEXT:

- Rivier men's basketball will end the regular season Saturday against GNAC opponent JWU at 3 PM.
