Gillette’s 32 Points Lifts Men’s Basketball over Anna Maria

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier men's basketball team defeated the AMCATS of Anna Maria College this afternoon in conference action.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/5/2022

- Score: Rivier 92, Anna Maria 77

- Records: Rivier (8-11, 4-8 GNAC), Anna Maria (11-8, 7-5 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The first half saw 14 lead changes and 10 ties between the two squads. Anna Maria spread the ball well through the first half as seven different athletes scored a bucket. Trevian Grenon has the team high through the half with nine points.

- Rivier's Miles Gillette (Washington, DC) was locked in the first half scoring a game high 18 points along with five rebounds and three assists. Gillette helped the Raiders take an 11-point lead into the locker room.

- Overall, Rivier took the second half as well, outscoring Anna Maria 48-44. The Raiders saw their lead reach 17 points before the AMCATS would fight back to shrink the deficit. Gillette added another 14 points to help finish off Anna Maria along with Will Parsons (Rowley, MA), who had 11 points of his own in the half.

- Gabe Armstead and Ralph Grasso had a combined 21 points in the half, with Grasso scoring 11 and Armstead 10.
