Men’s Basketball Downed by Emmanuel

BOSTON, MA: The Rivier men's basketball team fell to GNAC opponent Emmanuel College this evening on Andy Yosinoff Court.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 1/12/2022

- Score: Emmanuel 83, Rivier 68.

- Records: Emmanuel (9-3, 5-1 GNAC), Rivier (5-7, 1-4 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders took a three points deficit into the locker room against a tough Emmanuel team. Miles Gillette (Washington, DC) played an integral part in the team's performance in the first. The Saints had eight players score in the first half. Ryan Grijalva had the high going into the locker room with ten points.

- The second half saw Emmanuel jump out on top in a big way. They would extend their lead to 29 points at the most before an end of the half surge by the Raiders. Pharaoh Davis (Plainville, MA) made his presence known throughout the game scoring 16 points, dishing out six assists and five steals. Gillette would only get two more points in the second to end with 16 points and seven rebounds. Grijalva would end with the team high for the Saints with 15 points. They passed the ball well, with ten people scoring this evening.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shooting %: Emmanuel 49.2%, Rivier 4.3%

-  Assists: Emmanuel 20, Rivier 11

-  Rebounds: Emmanuel 47, Rivier 26
