Men’s Basketball Falls to Albertus

NEW HAVEN, CT: The Rivier men's basketball team dropped their second GNAC matchup this afternoon to Albertus Magnus by a score of 97-78.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 12/11/2021

- Score: Albertus 97, Rivier 78

- Records: Albertus (5-1, 3-0 GNAC), Rivier (3-5, 0-2 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders made the first basket of the game, giving them their only lead in the contest. The first half was well contested by Rivier against a tough team in Albertus. This was until the end of the half when the Falcons pulled away to take a 13-point lead into the break.

- The Second half saw Albertus grow their lead behind Justice Washington, who scored a team high nine points.

- The Falcons had four people score double digits in the contest, with Tyreek Perkins topping the team with 20 points. Terry Dawkins had 16 points and 14 rebounds to be the second person on the team to complete the double-double. Washington also reached that feat with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

- Miles Gillette (Washington, DC) did everything he could to keep the Raiders in the game. He scored a game high 27 points with 14 rebounds. Pharaoh Davis (Plainville, MA) made an impact while coming off an injury scoring 15 points.

-  Shooting %: Rivier 42.9%, Albertus 41.4%

-  3 PT %: Albertus 34.5%, Rivier 33.3%

-  FT %: Rivier 77.4%, Albertus 68.2%
