Men’s Basketball Downed by Lasell in Conference Opener
NASHUA, NH: The Rivier men's basketball team was defeated this afternoon by conference opponent Lasell University by a score of 86-71.
THE BASICS:

- Records: Lasell (4-2, 1-0 GNAC), Rivier (2-4, 0-1 GNAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first half ended in the Raiders favor 39-32. Both teams were evenly matched throughout the half, going back and forth until the end, when Riv was able to get a slight seven-point edge. Miles Gillette (Washington, DC) had a team high 10 points in the half. Ethan Hutchinson (Tilton, NH) was right behind him, with eight coming off the bench.
- Kevin Nunez had the game high going into the locker room with 11. Conan McCusker put up another nine points for the Lasers.
- The second half was a different story for the Raiders, with Lasell coming out to the half looking to take over the game. They did just that with a 54 point half compared to Rivier's 32. Nunez was unstoppable in the paint, putting up a ridiculous 23 points in the half alone. Teammate EJ Day contributed 15 points of his own. Nunez also contributed heavily on the boards, with nine in the half.
- Gillette had another team high of nine points.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Nunez finished with 34 points, 14 rebounds, and four steals.
- Day had an even 20 points and six rebounds.
- Gillette had 19 points and 11 rebounds.
- Shooting %: Lasell 44.6%, Rivier 36.6%
