Men’s Basketball Downs UMaine-Augusta

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier men's basketball team took down non-conference opponent UMaine-Augusta this afternoon in the Muldoon Center by a score of 81-78.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 11/14/2021

- Score: Rivier 81, UMA 78

- Records: Rivier (2-1), UMA (1-5)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders jumped out to a 7-0 run to start the game. They would extend their lead numerous times throughout the contest, but the Moose seemed to always fight their way back, making it a close contest. UMA had four players in the double digits this afternoon, while the Raiders had just two. Overall, the Moose outshot Rivier 37.2% to 34.3%.

-  The First half offense for the Raiders was led by Miles Gillette (Washington, DC), who finished the half with 13 points and 12 rebounds. UMA had two athletes score seven each in Omar Rolle and Trevor Beals.

- The second half was a complete 180 for the Moose as they went from shooting 7% from three-point territory to 58.8% (10-17). This allowed them to storm back and tie up the game late in the half. Jovan Sisovic led UMA with 15 second half points going 4-for-5 from three. Gillette and Will Parsons (Rowley, MA) helped lift the Raiders over the visiting squad in the end, with Gillette netting another 16 points, with Parsons ending with 10.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Gillette finished with the game high of 29 points and 19 rebounds.

-  Sisovic had a team high for the Moose of 15 points off the bench.

-  Shooting Percentage: UMA 37.2%, Rivier 34.3%

- 3 PM -A: UMA 36.7%, Rivier 25%

- FT Percentage: Rivier 85.7%, UMA 56.3%
