Baseball Stifled By JWU-Providence

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier baseball team fell by a final score of 9-2 to JWU-Providence on Sunday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest at Holman Stadium.

The Raiders fell to 7-20 (3-8 GNAC) while the Wildcats improved to 20-7 (10-2 GNAC).

The visitors put up five runs in the top of the second to take an early lead.

In the bottom of the fourth, Riv got on the board as Sebastien Reis blasted a two-run homer over the wall in left-center to make it a three-run game.

In the top half of the seventh, JWU would add three runs capped off by an inside-the-park home run to take a commanding 9-2 lead.

Colton Colleran went 3-for-4 at the plate for the Raiders.

Rivier will host another GNAC clash on Tuesday, April 23 when the Raiders welcome Mitchell to Holman Stadium for a 4:00 p.m. first pitch.
