NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier baseball team had its winning streak snapped by Saint Joseph (Conn.) at Holman Stadium on Sunday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play, 13-3.

The Raiders are now 7-16 on the season and 3-4 in the GNAC. USJ moves to 11-15-1 overall and 4-6 in conference.

Two runs would come in the second inning for the Blue Jays generated by a triple to the right field fence, claiming an early lead for the visitors.

In the next inning, USJ would continue to build its lead, recording another pair of runs to make it 4-0.

Generated by two Raider errors in the fourth, the Blue Jays put up two runs again to lead by six.

The Raiders would get on the board in the bottom of the fifth to cut the deficit to four. Owen Medlock led off the inning with a walk, followed by a single to right field from Kyle Hsu. Luis Colon then hit a double down the left field line to send Medlock home. JD Normand later hit a sacrifice fly to left, allowing Hsu the opportunity to score.

The Blue Jays would extend their lead in the sixth, grabbing four runs off four hits to make it a 10-2 ballgame.

In the top of the eighth, USJ continued to tack onto its lead with another three runs on two hits and two errors committed by the Raiders.

The Raiders would put up a single run in the bottom of the eighth but could not muster enough offense to catch up with the Blue Jays.

Saint Joseph totaled 15 hits to the Raiders' six. Colon and Normand ended the day with a double and an RBI apiece.

The Raiders will continue their homestand on Tuesday, April 16 when they take on Anna Maria in GNAC North action with a first pitch of 3:00 p.m.
