Baseball Falls to MCLA

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier baseball team fell to MCLA in their first game back in Holman Stadium. The Trailblazers used two big innings to push past the Raiders 12-6.

THE BASICS:

- Records: MCLA (9-13), Rivier (1-20)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  MCLA used a five-run first and a four-run sixth inning to beat the hosting Raiders Tuesday night at Holman Stadium. The Trailblazers put together seven extra-base hits in the contest. Randy Adams had two doubles, with Austin Rachiele hitting two triples.

- The Trailblazers had two student-athletes tally multiple RBIs in Adams, who led both teams with four runs batted in on two hits. Mathew Belfance also picked up two hits in the ball game, batting in three.

- Frank Gulezian (Derry, NH) produced three of the four Raider runs after walking with the bases loaded and hitting a two-run double in the eighth inning. Jacob Boudreau (Auburn, NH) was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate for the Raiders scoring three runs and walking twice.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  William Walsh got the win on the mound for MCLA. He pitched four innings allowing just three hits, and struck out two.

-  The Raiders were outhit by the Trailblazers 13 to 8.

-  Austin Rachiele was a perfect 4-for-4.

- Rivier baseball will be taking on Albertus Magnus in a make-up conference doubleheader this Thursday, starting at 4 pm.
