Bernardini calls upon Mike Henzley and Preston Yerrington to join his staff.

The Rivier University Athletics Department is proud to announce two new additions to the Rivier University Baseball coaching staff.   

Newly appointed Assistant Coach Mike Henzley of Merrimack, N.H., brings a host of coaching experience to the program having served 14 years at Daniel Webster College as the Eagles Assistant Coach.  In his tenure, Henzley worked to build a program that saw three NECC Conference Championships, along with an invitation to the ECAC Tournament and two selections to the NCAA Regional Tournament.  Over that span the Eagles named 35 players to All Conference selections, four Conference Players of the Year selections, two players named to the NEIBA and one player named D3 All New England team.

Henzley played for the Eagles back to the late 1980's when he was a two-year letter winner as the Eagles third baseman, graduating in 1988 with a B.S in Aviation Management.  He also holds a M.B.A. from Webster University in St. Louis.

After graduation Henzley served in the United States Air Force from 1989-1998 and is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. Since separating from the Air Force in 1998 he moved back to Merrimack and has been heavily involved with youth and amateur baseball in Southern New Hampshire. 

Bernardini also called upon another local to join the Raider's coaching staff.  

Preston Yerrington is a native of Manchester, N.H. and proud graduate of Saint Anselm College '19.  Yerrington spent three years on the baseball team, one season under former Coach Barry Rosen and two under former Coach Nick Cenatiempo. During his first year on the team in 2017 led the Hawks with 13 appearances on the year. During his senior year for the Hawks in 2019 he pitched 36.2 innings, leading the Hawks with a 3.68 ERA. 

After graduating from Saint Anselm, he has helped the New Hampshire Prospects travel organization by being their Director of Pitching. Helping to Coach the 16u team during 2020.

During the summer of 2018, leading into his senior year, he spent a season in the Perfect Game Collegiate League. Playing in the final season for the Jamestown Jammers, the team went 35-16 during that summer. The Jammers finished the Collegiate Summer Season ranked 310 in the country for College summer teams.
