Bio

John Moore will be the bench coach for Rivier in 2013. Coach Moore brings with him over 35 years of playing/coaching experience with him from around the greater Boston area. He is a graduate of Minuteman Regional in Lexington, Ma he was named to the Commonwealth Athletic Conference 1st team All Stars squad 3 years in a row in both baseball and hockey and was named league MVP his senior year in baseball. John was also a 2 sport athlete at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI.


Coach Moore has been involved in the Greater Boston Baseball scene as a player or coach since 1985 when he played and pitched for Mass Envelope in the Boston Park League. During the late 80's and 90's he played within the Intercity League for the Augustine A's franchise and briefly for Elm Supply - Cassell Club. He got his start in coaching in 1985 within the Somerville Little League system and hasn't stopped coaching since. Coach Moore has been involved with "Winterball" which is a charity baseball game played in December to help benefit the Greater Boston "Toys For Tots" program. That game had its origin with the Boston Men's Baseball League but has since been opened up for all greater Boston baseball players including the Yawkey League where he has been an assistant coach for the Malden Bulldogs since 2009. Coach Moore currently resides in Revere, MA with his wife Diane and 2 children (Samantha 17 & Zack 14).
