Men's and Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Honors

NASHUA, NH: The spring 2022 season has reached its conclusion with the release of the GNAC All-Conference Teams and major awards. Rivier had nine student-athletes earn GNAC honors between the men's and women's lacrosse teams, with 13 awards overall. These 13 awards include GNAC First Team selections, GNAC Second Team selections, Third Team, Rookie, and Coach of the Year.

Major Awards:

Men's lacrosse freshmen Chris Heitmiller (Nashua, NH) earned the nod for Rookie of the Year after helping his team reach the semifinals with an overall record of 14-4 and 8-2 in the GNAC. He finished this season with 41 points overall, with 26 goals scored and 15 assists.

The Last major award went to coach James DeLanoy, who earned GNAC Coach of the Year for the impressive season he and his team had. They finished the year as the three seed going into the GNAC tournament.

First Team Selections:

Rivier had two First Team selections on the men's side, the first being Michael Ference (Salem, NH). Ference was the go-to guy for the Raiders on the offensive side of the ball. He racked up an impressive 51 goal season along with 35 assists for a total of 86 points. Ference is also the fastest Raider to reach 100 points in a career with just 27 games played.

Coby Mercier (Boscawen, NH) was the second and final First Team selection between the two Raiders lacrosse teams. Mercier had a career season with 26 goals scored, 22 assists, and 48 total points. Mercier also played a key role on defense, scooping up 31 groundballs and causing three turnovers.

Second Team Selections:

There were two student-athletes to be named to the GNAC Second Team. The first is women's lacrosse attack and midfielder Sarah Lachance (Chelmsford, MA). Lachance played a huge part in the Raiders offensive successes. She raked up an impressive 47 goals with 31 assists for 78 total points as a freshman. Lachance isn't just one-sided, as she helped all over the field. She tallied an impressive 52 draw controls, 37 groundballs, and 23 caused turnovers.

The second player named to the GNAC Second Team was Chris Heitmiller.

Third Team Selections:

The Raiders had one athlete named to the GNAC Third Team, Adam Hailey (Salem, NH). Hailey was a staple in the Raiders defense this season. He had a career high in all statistical categories, racking up 47 groundballs, 19 caused turnovers, and two assists. Hailey played a key role in the team's success in clear attempts as he found himself open often just over half field.

All-Rookie Team:

Rivier had four student-athletes selected for this, two from the men's team and two from the women's. Lachance and Heitmiller were two, with Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ) and Parker Williams (Limington, ME) being the other two. Hinkley had a solid season as a freshman playing attack for the women's lacrosse program. She had an impressive 32 goals on the season with seven assists for 39 points.

Williams played an impressive D-pole this past season. Racking up 21 caused turnovers and 49 groundballs. A highlight of his season was when he scored the game-winning goal against the Bulldogs of Dean College to win it 9-8.
