WESTON, MASS. – The Rivier University Women's Soccer team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this afternoon on the road at Regis College, 6-0. The loss moves the Raiders' overall record to 2-7-2 and they now have a conference record of 0-5-1. The Pride, meanwhile, improve to 6-6-0 overall, 3-3-0 against GNAC foes.

Regis scored early and often throughout the first 45 minutes of action. Kaylee Francis netted the eventual game-winning goal in the 4th minute of action, an unassisted tally to make it 1-0 Regis. Valarie Gordon, Payton Fitzgerald and Emma Mendes all notched goals as the Pride took a 4-0 lead into halftime.

The second half only saw two goals from Regis as both Rachel Kelly and Alex Maher scored at 47:06 and 50:33, respectively, to give the 6-0 advantage and final to the Pride.

Rivier senior goalkeeper Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.) was impressive despite the score as she made 11 saves as the Pride pelted her with 17 shots on net. The duo of Ori Attridge and Angie Caldwell earned the clean sheet without seeing a shot on net.

The Raiders will return home to Joanne Merrill Field for the next contest on Friday night. Rivier will host Emmanuel College in a 6pm GNAC game under the lights. Regis will return to the pitch on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Albertus Magnus for a 12pm GNAC kickoff.
