Women's Lacrosse: Raiders suffer conference loss to Pride, 16-3.

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Raiders suffered a conference loss to the Pride of Regis College, 16-3. The loss drops the Raiders to a 3-10 overall, 2-7 in league play.  The Pride is now 13-1 overall and undefeated in all 10 conference matches.

The Raiders certainly had their hands full tonight facing the top team in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. The Pride managed to score eight unanswered goals within the first twenty minutes of play.

Junior Dzenana Omerovic was able to slip one by the Pride goalkeeper after scooping up a ground ball after a Raiders shot.

The Raiders didn't manage to get back on the board until the last few minutes of the game. After a Regis goal, senior Ashley Leal (Tyngsboro, Mass.) came out of a draw control with possession. The Raiders moved the ball around the Prides defensive end to eat up the clock until they finally found a penetrating opportunity.  Marin Owen's (Brookline, N.H.) used her blistering speed to catch the Pride on their heels after receiving a pass from grad student Morghan Linehan (Bedford, N.H.).

Under a minute later Omerovic struck again after receiving a dish from Marin Owens.  This was Omerovics 26th goal of the season and Owen's 16 assist of the season.

The Raiders senior goalkeeper Courtney Laperriere (Keene, N.H.O) made 11 saves tonight.  The upperclassman has collected an impressive 158 saves this season.

Next up for the Raiders will be another conference opponent, the Monks of Saint Joseph's College (Maine). The Raiders will take a scenic trip to Standish, Maine on Friday for a 3PM start time.
