Women's Lacrosse: Raiders suffer loss to Pride, 5-8

(Weston, Mass) The Rivier University Women's Lacrosse team dropped a Great Northeast Atlantic Conference contest to Regis, 8-5. The loss sends Raiders to 3-6 in the GNAC and an overall record of 3-8.  Regis slides to 11-3 and 6-2 in league play.

Sophomore Amanda Barton (Pelham, NH) led the offensive effort for the Raiders as she netted the first and last goal of the first half to keep the score even.  The assists for each of these goals were credited to junior Ashley Leal (Tyngsboro, Mass) and sophomore Dzenana Omerovic (Revere, Mass).

Junior Emily Kosak (Milton, Mass) started off the scoring in the second half with an unassisted goal. Sophomore Kerri Anselmo (Natick, Mass) and junior Malorie Kiehl (Burlington, Mass) also contributed to the score sheet. 

Marin Owens (Brookline, NH) responded at the 21:53 mark with a goal from a free position shot.  Ashley Leal chipped in with an unassisted goal then Stephanie Whalen close out the game with the final goal at the 2:14 mark from a free positon shot.

Junior Goalkeeper Courtney Laperriere (Keene, NH) closed her day out with 13 saves.  The Goalie still leads the GNAC with 148 saves in 660 minutes of play.

Regis Senior Goalkeeper Maresa (Barrington, NJ) closed the game out with 5 saves.

Both teams will be back in conference action when they return to the field this Saturday.  Rivier will host the final game of their regular season against Saint Joes of Maine (10-3, 6-2 GNAC) at 1PM.  Regis will travel to Simmons College (8-6, 4-4 GNAC) for an 11AM matchup.
