WHAT HAPPENED (Game 1)

The first match for the Raiders was short after conceding 8 runs in five innings.

First at bat of the season for the Raiders was junior Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.).  Smith got on base by ways of a walk, then stole second while senior Mikayla Ramsdell (Salem, N.H.) was at bat.  Ramsdell struck out swinging and freshman Hunter Greenleaf (Scarborough, Me) also earned a walk. Rowsell lined out to 3rd base and junior Tayla Legrand (Tewksbury, Mass.) walked. With bases loaded junior Kendal Liggett (Litchfield, N.H.) struck out, ending the first inning of the season.

At the top of the 3rd inning the same play was made.  The Cougars walked Smith and she ended up stealing second again.  This time Ramsdell ground out to 3rd and Smith advanced to third base. Greenleaf flied out and Smith took a risk and was called out at the plate.

In the fourth junior Taylor Rowsell (Chelmsford, Mass.) earned a single.

The fifth freshman Sarah McCluskey (Lowell, Mass.) reached first on an error. Smith earned a single. Mikayla lined into a double play at first and third.
