Men's Lacrosse: Raiders pounce on Wildcats, 14-11.

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Raiders earned a conference win on the road, against the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales University, 14-11.

Most of the damage was done by the Raiders in the first period. Between senior Colby Larsen (Windham, N.H.) and sophomore Dylan McSparren (Warwick, R.I) the duo scored 3 apiece.  Four of the goals the two attackers utlized eachother.  The other two went unassisted.  

Others to contribute minutes later were senior Eric Guinasso (Pelham, Mass), who scored an unassisted goal after a successful face-off won by junior Travis Gusikoff (Lagrangeville, N.Y.). 

Senior Jake Genest (Salem, N.H.) tallied one of his goals off of a dish from freshman Corey Hicks (Londonderry, N.H.).  Another goal scored after a successful face-off by Gusikoff. 

Senior Rob Fullerton (Wilmington, Mass.) also contributed to the scoreline in the first leg, thanks to senior Chris Pennie (Wilmington, Mass.) who was credited the assist. Pennie leads the Raiders with 20 assists and with this total he sits 3rd in the conference. 

After the first 15 minutes the Raiders outpaced the Wildcats, 9-3.  

Rivier out performed the Wildcats on almost all statisitcal fronts. Shots; 16-4, ground balls; 9-6, faceoffs; 7-12 to 5-12, clears; 3-3, 2-3.  The Raiders only gave up 2 turnovers, while the home team gave up 6.  

In the second, third and fourth period the Raiders kept on climbing. However, so did the the Wildcats. Senior Brad Kratz (Sandy Hook, Conn.) led the hosts with 3 goals out of 4 attempts on goal and 1 assist on the night. Senior Ben Farrell (Baltimore, Md.) notched 2 goals, 3 assists and scooped up 5 ground balls when it was all said and done.  However, the Raiders kept a 3 goal margin for over three quarters. 

Up next for the Raiders, another Great Northeast Atlantic Conference face off against the Cadets of Norwich University (5-4 overall, 3-1 GNAC) on Tuesday, April 9th at 7PM in Northfield, Vt..  As for the Wildcats, they'll take a trip to New Haven, Ct. to face conference foes Albertus Magnus (2-5 overall, 1-3 GNAC) on Tuesday at 7:30PM.
