Men's Basketball: Raiders fall short to Regis College in Catholic Colleges Classic

WESTON, MASS. – The Rivier University Men's Basketball fell to host Regis College this afternoon 88-63, in the opening of the Catholic Colleges Classic inside the Higgins Court. The loss brings the Raiders to an overall record of 2-7 while the Pride move to 2-8 on the season.

Senior Issaiah Chappell (Sunapee, N.H.) led the offensive attack for the Raiders with 15 points. Freshman Nikolas Pignone (Stoneham, Mass.) added 11 points and sophomore Kyron Greenaway (Stamford, Conn.) pitched in with six points and eight rebounds. Junior Patrick Meyers (Wolfeboro Falls, N.H.) also helped with nine points on the night.

For the Pride, junior Marc Trinidad (Bronx, N.Y.) had a game high 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor while also collecting 12 rebounds for the nights only double-double. Classmate Juvens Dalger (Oakland Park, Fla.) finished his night with 15 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Zak Latifi (Holliston, Mass.) also reached double digit figures with 20 points on the night.

Both teams will be back to play in the classic tomorrow. Rivier will be facing another Greater Northeast Athletic Conference opponent, Saint Joseph's College. While Regis will be up against a GNAC opponent as well, facing off against Emmanuel College.
