Men's Basketball: New England College tops Rivier

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team returned to action this evening as they fell to visiting New England College, 107-63 in a non-conference matchup inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The loss moves the Raiders overall record to 1-5 while the Pilgrims are now 4-0.

Junior Nate Hale (Nashua, N.H.) led the offensive effort for Rivier as he collected a game-high 23 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field. Classmate Issaiah Chappell (Sunapee, N.H.) finished with nine points and both senior Isaiah Marks (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and freshman Jalen Watson (Woonsocket, R.I.) added seven points each.

The Pilgrims saw 13 of the 14 student-athletes record points with senior Ricky Leonard (Windsor, Conn.) totaling a team-high 20 points. Freshman Jamal Allen (Dorchester, Mass.) chipped in with 18 points and senior Jason Jones (Roxbury, Mass.) finished with 10 points and a game-high seven rebounds.

Rivier will enjoy a full week off with the Thanksgiving Day Break before the host Colby-Sawyer College in a non-conference contest between the two Great Northeast Athletic Conference schools on Tuesday, November 27th at 7pm. New England College will also be back on the court on November 27th as they travel to Norwich University for a 7pm tip-off.
