Men's Basketball: Raiders rammed down at Suffolk

(Boston, Mass.) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team suffered an 84-57 setback this evening on the road at Suffolk University in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest. The Raiders move to 2-22 on the season with a 1-14 mark in GNAC play while the Rams up their record to 13-11 overall, 8-7 in the conference.

Sophomore Issaiah Chappell (Sunapee, N.H.) led the Raiders with a 21-pont, 8-rebound night off the bench and freshman Tarik Rivers (Stamford, Conn.) chipped in with 13 points. Chappell shot 5-of-11 from the floor and was a near perfect 10-for-11 from the charity stripe for his season game-high.

Suffolk saw four student-athletes reach double figures with the duo of Brendan Mulson and Thomas Duffy leading the way as each recorded 16 points. Duffy also registered a double-double with his game-high 11 rebounds and Mulson fell just short with 9 rebounds. George Grillakis chipped in with 11 points in a reserve effort for the Rams.

Rivier will wrap up the 2017-2018 season on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Lasell College for a 3pm start. Suffolk will also return to the floor on Saturday afternoon in Newton as they have their final regular season contest at Mount Ida College.
