Men's Basketball: Raiders tripped up by Saint Joseph's (Me.)

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team lost a Great Northeast Athletic Conference game this afternoon to visiting Saint Joseph's College (Me.), 79-59 in front of a healthy crowd inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The loss moves the Raiders' overall record to 1-13, 0-5 in the conference while the Monks up their record to 8-6, 3-2 GNAC.

Sophomore Tristian Givens (Windsor, Conn.) led the way for Rivier as he netted 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Freshmen Tarik Rivers (Stamford, Conn.) and Ian Wade (Windsor Locks, Conn.) each scored 13 points in the loss for the Raiders.

Saint Joseph's was guided by the long ball as junior Darian Berry (Rochester, N.H.) knocked down 6-of-12 from beyond the arc on his way to a game-high 27 points. Senior Quinn Richardson-Newton (Saco, Maine) also reached double-digits with 10 points while freshman Jack Casale (Portland, Maine) & junior Jae Johns (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively, off the bench. Senior Aaron Hall (Haverhill, Mass.) was the leading rebounder for the Monks with 11.

Rivier will return to action on Tuesday night as they travel to Anna Maria College for a 5:30pm GNAC contest. Saint Joseph's will also be back in action on Tuesday night as they get set to host Mount Ida College in a 7:30pm tip-off.
