Field Hockey: Sheehy tabbed GNAC Rookie of the Week, again!

(Winthrop, Mass.) It was announced earlier this afternoon by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference that Rivier University freshman Maegan Sheehy (Sabattus, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Field Hockey Rookie of Week.

Sheehy played outstanding in the Raiders' only game of the week against GNAC foe Lasell College. The rookie scored two goals, including the game-tying goal in the 65th minute to force overtime against the top team in the conference.

This is the second time this season that Sheehy was selected as the GNAC Rookie of the Week. She also earned the honors back on September 24th.

The Field Hockey team will return to action tomorrow evening as they begin at four-game home stand to close out the regular season. Rivier will host Saint Joseph's College (Me.) beginning at 7pm tomorrow before welcoming Becker College on Thursday (5pm) and Johnson & Wales on Saturday afternoon.
