Bio
David Walbridge enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Rivier University men’s soccer program in 2024.
Walbridge was part of Saint Joseph’s College of Maine soccer team from 2017 to 2021, tallying numerous accolades throughout his career. He earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Year honors and a spot on the All-GNAC First Team in 2019 and 2021. Additionally, he was chosen to the All-New England Division III Third Team in 2019, GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week on multiple occasions, and the GNAC All-Academic Team in 2019.
During his off-seasons, Walbridge was a goalkeeper for the Western United Pioneers. Walbridge also participated in the Baystate Games and indoor soccer leagues at Soccer City and Sports World.
Walbridge helped with the Saint Joseph’s prospect camps in 2018 and 2019, coached youth soccer at Wilbraham Parks & Recreation, and volunteered his time at Westfield State University coaching children with special needs.
Walbridge has been a chemistry teacher at Salem High School since August 2023.
Prior to joining Rivier, Walbridge worked at Westbrook High School as a ninth-grade physical science teacher from November 2021 to June 2023. He began his teaching experience in May 2021 as a long-term substitute for two months at Hampden Wilbraham School District.
Walbridge graduated from Saint Joseph’s with a bachelor’s in chemistry and secondary education in 2021 and a master’s in secondary education in 2022.
He holds his Class D coaching license for soccer and a teaching certification in New Hampshire and Maine for physical science.
