Bio

Aramis Velez returns to Rivier University for his eighth season as a baseball assistant coach in 2024.

Velez, a Riv alumni, was a four-year member of the baseball program. He captained the squad his junior and senior seasons.

In his first year, Velez was named to the Great Northeast Athletic (GNAC) All-Conference Third Team. As a senior he was honored on the GNAC All-Conference Second Team as a first basemen, with a batting average of .371, earning nine doubles, four homeruns, 43 hits, and 31 RBIs.

Velez is the record holder at Rivier for most RBIs with 75, as well as second for doubles with 27, and second for home runs with seven.

He attended Lowell High School and played baseball all four years, graduating in 2009.

Velez graduated with a Criminal Justice degree in 2013 from Rivier and is currently working for the City of Lowell.
