2024 NCAA DIVISION III EAST REGIONAL
HOPKINTON, N.H. – The Rivier women's cross-country team looks to build on the momentum from two weeks ago at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) as it heads north to compete in the Division III NCAA East Regional, hosted by Suffolk, at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Doctoral student Emma McEvoy became the first Raider since 1998 to win a GNAC Individual Championship and Runner of the Year. Her time of 23:48:30 put her 3.5 seconds ahead of her competition to place first and bring home First Team All-Conference Honors.
Several other runners are looking to build on their improvement from two weeks ago.
First-year Sophia Kasem was the second runner to cross the finish line and set a new personal-best of 28:10.9, which placed her 32nd overall at the conference championship meet.
First-years Ayla Biscan and Chloe Pena followed in Kasem's footsteps and set new personal bests themselves. Biscan crossed the line with a recorded time of 33:36.1 while Pena finished with a time of 39:20.2, six minutes faster than her previous best.
Under the guidance of first-year head coach Ellie Goyette, Rivier will look to race to All-Region and All-New England recognition.
