Women's Cross Country: Lizzy Meehan named GNAC Runner of the Week

(Winthrop, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced earlier today that Rivier University junior Lizzy Meehan (Nashua, N.H.) has been selected as the conference's Runner of the Week for Women's Cross Country.

Meehan guided the Raider WXC team to a second place overall finish at the Lt. Travis J. Fuller Invitational hosted by Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Friday evening. She finished the race with a time of 20:22, which placed her third overall out of a field of 35 runners. Meehan ran a pace of 6:34 per mile as the team garnered 52 points.

This is the first time that a Rivier XC student-athlete has been named the GNAC Runner of the Week since Anna Pearsons '18 earned GNAC Rookie of the Week honors on October 6, 2014.

Meehan and the rest of the Raiders Cross Country will return to the course on Saturday morning at 11am in the Saint Joseph's College (Me.) Invitational in Standish, Maine.
