Plymouth St. Downs Women’s Volleyball, 3-0
NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier women's volleyball team fell to Plymouth St. in straight sets in non-conference action on Tuesday night at Muldoon Gymnasium. The Raiders fell by set scores of 19-25, 25-27, 17-25 to fall to 9-6 on the season, as the visiting Panthers jumped to 14-2.
The Panthers' Nora Ryan recorded five kills at a .375 clip in the opening frame, helping the visitors jump out to a 1-0 lead.
In the second, Rivier battled back after trailing for the majority of the set to take a 25-24 lead on a bad set by Plymouth St. Despite the Panthers down at set point, they would rally to score the next three points to take the game and a 2-0 advantage going into set three. The Panthers hit at a .216 team percentage, with Ryley McNeeley and Lili Stogner each notching four kills.
Despite Callie Nanos' four kills in the third set, the Panthers would overpower the Raiders defense to win 25-17.
Both Sofia Pawlusik and Kaitlyn Miller led Rivier with 11 digs each in the setback, while Nanos led all Raiders with 10 kills at a .269 clip.
Rivier continues its home non-conference slate with a 7:00 p.m. match on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
