Women's Volleyball: Five selected to GNAC All-Conference Teams

(Winthrop, Mass.) After posting a 27-7 overall record and earning a trip to the championship game, Rivier University placed five student-athletes on the 2018 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball All-Conference Team announced earlier this afternoon by the conference.

Raiders senior setter Hayley Macken (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and junior Taylor Dunster (Sutton, Mass.) were selected the league's first-team.

Macken capped off her stellar career dishing out 933 assists for a 9.42 assists per set average, which was second in the GNAC. The three-time All-Conference, two-time first team member also registered 121 kills while scooping up 264 digs and totaling 39 blocks. Macken closes out her career with 2,885 career assists which ranks 2nd All-time in Raider WVB History.

Dunster was electric for the team all season. She finishes her 2018 campaign with a team-leading 281 kills and a 2.6 kills per set average. Dunster, who was also named the GNAC Player of the Week, chipped in defensively with the team high of 309 digs (2.86 digs per set average) and was responsible for 30 total blocks. This is the second time that Dunster garnered All-Conference honors as she was tabbed a 2nd team selection a year ago.

Freshman sensation Sydney Racevicius (Woodbury, Conn.) was placed on the All-Conference Second team after finishing her rookie season second on the team behind Dunster in kills and digs. Racevicius hammered down 254 kills – a 2.37 kills per set average – while collecting 294 digs (2.75 digs per set). She also record the third-highest service aces with 45 as she also was named the GNAC Rookie of the Week twice in 2018.

Graduate student-athlete Courtney Collins (Litchfield, N.H.) earned Third-Team honors in 2018 as she complied a team-high 20 block solos. The 6-foot-1 middle blocker was a force to be reckoned with at the net as she totaled 221 kills, a team-best 2.63 kills per set average and a .328 hitting percentage offensively. On the defensive side, she totaled 74 blocks (20 solo, 54 assist) for a 0.88 blocks per set average. Collins was also named a GNAC Player of the Week recipient this season.

Senior Taylor White (Dunstable, Mass.) was named to the conference's All-Sportsmanship Team. The fourth year member of the Women's Volleyball program enjoyed a fine final season as she recorded a career high with 202 digs as the primary libero for the Raiders.
