Women's Volleyball: Raiders roll past Salem State, 3-0

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Volleyball team have now won 10 of their last 11 since the calendar flipped to October as they swept visiting Salem State University in straight sets this evening in non-conference action inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The win lifts the Raiders overall record to 23-6 while Vikings slide to 14-9.

Rivier earned the win by set scores of 25-22, 25-13 and 25-21.

Freshman Sydney Racevicius (Woodbury, Conn.) led the way offensively for the Raiders she collected nine kills while also scooping up a team high 18 digs. Junior Taylor Dunster (Sutton, Mass.) and sophomore Jillian Rabasco (Nashua, N.H.) each contributed with six kills while sophomore Emma Soucy (Dunbarton, N.H.) hammered down five kills in the win. Senior setter Hayley Macken (Clifton Park, N.Y.) directed the offense with 31 assists to go along with her five kills, 12 digs and two total blocks. Fellow senior Taylor White (Dunstable, Mass.) also had a solid evening with 8 digs and 3 kills.

The Vikings were paced by the efforts from senior Jasmine Severino (Lawrence, Mass.), who totaled the team-high of six kills and sophomore Darcy McDowell (Goshen, N.Y.) chipped in with four kills on the night. Junior Morgan Adams (Scotia, N.Y.) dished out 19 assists to guide the offense while senior Samantha Chaisson (Duxbury, Mass.) patrolled the back line with 14 digs.

Rivier will be right back at it tomorrow night as they travel to the University of Southern Maine for another non-conference contest. Game time is set for 7pm. Salem State, meanwhile, will wrap up the 2018 regular season on Saturday morning as they host Bridgewater State University.
