Women's Volleyball: Raiders swept by UNE, 3-0

(Biddeford, Maine) The Rivier University Women's Volleyball team dropped a non-conference contest this evening as they visited the University of New England. The Raiders fell 3-0 by set scores of 25-16, 25-21 & 25-23.

Rivier is now 10-6 on the year while UNE improves to 4-10.

Senior Alex Trevains (Litchfield, N.H.) was the offensive star for the Raiders as she hammered down a team-high nine kills while freshman Allison Zagami (Milford, Mass.) added five kills & six digs in the loss. Junior setter Hayley Macken (Clifton Park, N.Y.) directed the Raiders offense with 20 assists and senior libero Bethany Trevino (Westminster, Colo.) controlled the back line with 22 digs.

For UNE, they were led by Rene Roggenbuck – who had the game-high of 13 kills and a .500 hitting percentage. Bekah Mather added 10 kills and Molley Camelo chipped in with eight kills and 12 digs. Kristen Falcinelli dished out 20 assists with Sydney Christiansen adding 14 assists with 14 digs to guide UNE to victory.

Next up for the Raiders will be a date with Tufts University on Wednesday, October 4th inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. Game time is set for 7pm.
