Women's Volleyball: Hayley Macken selected as GNAC Player of the Week

(Winthrop, Mass.) It has been announced by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference this afternoon that Rivier University junior Hayley Macken (Clifton Park, N.Y.) was selected as the GNAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week presented by Corvais.

Macken was the catalyst in propelling the Raiders to a perfect 3-0 week with conference wins over Emmanuel, Albertus and Saint Joseph's (Me.). She averaged 10.82 assists per set while scooping up 2.64 digs per set on the week. She capped off her outstanding week by recording 46 assists in the team's 3-1 win over Saint Joseph's College.

This is the first time this season that Macken has been selected by the conference and the second time that a Raider has garnered a weekly honor following freshman Julia Zargaj (Groveland, Mass,) who was named the GNAC Rookie of the Week back on September 5th.

Macken and the Women's Volleyball team will be back in action tomorrow night as they battle Emerson College in a non-conference contest down in Boston, Mass.
