Women's Volleyball: Raiders swept at home by Tufts

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Volleyball team dropped another non-conference contest this evening inside the Muldoon Gymnasium to visiting Tufts University in straight sets. The loss moves the Raiders' overall record to 10-7 while the Jumbos improve to 11-4 on the season.

Tufts won the three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-8 and 25-15.

Sophomore Taylor Dunster (Sutton, Mass.) and junior Taylor White (Dunstable, Mass.) each led the team with four kills while junior setter Hayley Macken (Clifton Park, N.Y.) dished out 15 assists. Senior Bethany Trevino (Westminster, Colo.) reached double-digits with 12 digs.

The Jumbos were paced by sophomore Christina Nwankpa (Round Rock, Texas) who hammered down a game-high 10 kills and recorded a .750 hitting percentage. Both sophomore Rachel Furash (Westlake Village, Calif.) and junior Angela Yu (Austin, Texas) each collected double-digit assists with 18 and 16, respectively. Sophomore Kelly Klimo (North Canton, Ohio) matched Trevino with a game-high of 12 digs.

Next up for the Raiders will be a Great Northeast Athletic Conference tri-match on Saturday afternoon at Norwich University with Simmons College. Tufts will be in conference action as well as they travel to Amherst College on Friday night.
