Peacock, Amaral earn GNAC Weekly Honors

(Boston, MA) After a very successful week on the court for the Rivier University Women's Volleyball team, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced earlier today that seniors Nicole Peacock and Jessica Amaral were selected as the Conference's Offensive Player and Defensive Player of Week.

Peacock (Warwick, RI) led Rivier to a 3-0 week with to help the Raiders remain undefeated in GNAC play. The 5'8 senior middle hitter pounded out 35 kills in just 8 sets played for a 4.38 kill per set average all while hitting for a .397 clip. She also was dominant on the block with a 1.25 block per set average. Peacock recorded her 1,000 kill of her career in the match against Norwich to be come just the 4th Raider to ever reach the 1,000 kill milestone.

Amaral continues to get it done for the Raiders leading Rivier with her great defense. The East Providence, RI native was sensational all week picking up 41 digs in just 9 sets for a 4.56 digs per set. In a 3-0 win of JWU, Amaral was sensational on defense with 21 digs in the 3 sets for a 7.0 digs per set average and was just as impressive on receives with no receive errors for a 1.000 receive average.

These are just the latest honors for the Raiders who celebrated Head Coach Craig Kolek's 300th Career win as the Women's HC last Saturday.
