Raiders remain perfect in the GNAC with a 3-0 win over Suffolk

(Nashua, NH) Senior outside hitter Nicole Peacock (Warwick, RI) laced 20 kills as the Raiders defeated the visiting Rams of Suffolk University, 3-0 this evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest held at the Muldoon Gymnasium.

Suffolk put a scare into the Raiders as they pushed for extra points in the first set but the Raiders were able to pick up the points when necessary and take it by a 28-26 final.

The following two sets were all Rivier as they cruised to a 25-16 final in set #2 and a 25-17 final in the final set.

Peacock finished the evening recording a hitting percentage of .500 and freshman Molly McCormack (Ballston Lake, NY) recorded eight kills in the Raiders' 14 victory of the season. Sophomore setter Emily O'Reilly (San Francisco, CA) added 37 assists to her spectacular season and senior libero Jessica Amaral (East Providence, RI) contributed with 18 digs along the defensive line.

For Suffolk, they were led by Tori Brillaud (North Andover, MA) who registered 7 kills and 8 digs. Also having a solid game along the net for the Rams was Savannah Carpenter (Weston, CT) with 6 kills and Hailey Atkinson who had four kills. Colbey Kennedy (Old Lyme, CT) had the team high with 14 digs and Sarah Abogast (Chesterfield, MO) was credited with 8 assists in the three set loss.

Rivier improves to 14-5 overall on the season and remains perfect within GNAC competition with a 4-0 record. Suffolk falls to 9-10 overall and 0-2 in the GNAC.

On deck for the Raiders will be a GNAC Tri-Match at the Muldoon as they welcome Johnson and Wales University and Norwich University with the first game beginning at 11am. Suffolk will travel to Hartford, Connecticut as they will battle the University of Saint Joseph in a GNAC contest on Thursday night.

**Side note – Rivier Head Coach Craig Kolek is just two wins shy of reaching 300 for his career as the Women's Head Coach. He currently holds a record of 298-156 over the last 14 ½ seasons at the helm.**
