Women's Soccer: Raiders clipped at Colby-Sawyer, 5-1

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Rivier University Women's Soccer team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this afternoon to Colby-Sawyer College, 5-1. The loss sends the Raiders to an overall record of 2-5-2 and are now 0-3-1 in the conference while the Chargers slide up to 4-7-0 overall, 2-3-0 against the GNAC.

Colby-Sawyer scored a pair of the goals in the first 45 minutes and then added three more tallies in the second frame to take home the victory. Five different members of the Chargers program netted goals with Sophia Chirigotis and Brenna Humphrey scoring their first goals of the season. Leah Dupuis, Molly MacLure and Abby Hamelin were the other goal scorers for Colby-Sawyer.

Rivier senior goalkeeper Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.) made eight saves on the afternoon while CSC's Sam Mitchell recorded one save on net.

The Raiders will return to action on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Saint Joseph's College (Maine) for a 1pm GNAC contest in Standish.
