Women's Soccer: Raiders swept by Falcons, 3-0.

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Raiders fell to conference foes Albertus Magnus College 3-0 at home this afternoon at Joanne Merrill Field. 

The Raiders came out strong in the first half ripping 7 shots at the visitors, 3 of which were handled by their sophomore goalkeeper Sammara Streater (Hamden, CT).

Juniors Ashley Glynn (Salem, N.H.) and Madison Sharpe (Raymond, N.H.) each notched 2 shots while sophomore Jaida Mitchell (Raymond, N.H.) tallied 1.  The rookie midfielder Megan Dumont (Raymond, N.H.) who led the team with 3 shots this afternoon.

The Falcons outshot the Raiders 8-7 by the end of the first half.  It was Junior Sophia Austin (E. Hartford, CT) that notched the first goal of the game off a pass from Haley Andrews at the 7:52 mark. The first half ended 1-0.

The second half the Raiders were outpaced by the Falcons as Raiders senior goalkeeper Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.) dealt with 6 more shots and denied 2 of them.  The Falcons notched their second and third goal just 9 minutes into the second half and their second goal with 36 seconds to go in regulation time.

After today's loss the Raiders fall to 2-4-2 overall, 0-2-1 within the GNAC, while the Falcons rise to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in league play.

Next up for the Raiders will be another conference showdown at Colby-Sawyer College (3-7 overall, 1-3 GNAC) in New London, N.H. on Wednesday at 3:30PM. The Falcons are scheduled to travel to Boston to face conference opponent Emmanuel College (3-6 overall, 2-1 GNAC) at 7PM on Wednesday.
