NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier University Women's Soccer team allowed two first half goals as they fell this afternoon to the visiting University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), 2-0 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest held at Joanne Merrill Field. The Raiders even their record with the loss as they are now 2-2-2 overall on the year and 0-1-1 in league play. The Blue Jays improve to 6-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 against conference foes.

Saint Joseph jumped on the board almost immediately as freshman Olivia Belcourt (Cromwell, Conn.) received a pass from sophomore Rylee Snow (West Greenwich, R.I.) and buried it into the net just 2:19 into the contest. The Blue Jays then doubled their lead in the 7th minute as Snow earned her own goal as she was assisted from classmate Jenna Banta (Montville, Conn.). It was Snow's fourth goal of the year and it would be the final goal of the game.

Senior goalkeeper Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.) made eight saves on the afternoon while her counterpart, USJ sophomore Lindsey Montminy (Vernon, Conn.) stopped both shots she faced on net. It was Montminy's second shutout of the season.

Rivier will remain home for their next scheduled contest as they host Nichols College on Wednesday night under the lights at Joanne Merrill Field. Game time is slated for 7pm. USJ will be back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Lasell University for a 4pm conference tilt.
