NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier University Women's Soccer team took home a 1-1 draw this afternoon at a sunny and warm Joanne Merrill Field against visiting Eastern Nazarene College in a non-conference matchup. The tie evens out the Raiders' overall record at 1-1-1 and the Lions improve to 0-3-1 on the young season.

After a scoreless opening 45 minutes of play, Rivier broke through in the 55th minute as sophomore Jaida Mitchell (Raymond, N.H.) netted her first goal of the season knocking home a loose ball inside the 18'.

The lead was short lived for Rivier as ENC junior Diamond Best (Danvers, Mass.) collected a pass from classmate Sam Bernardi (Longmeadow, Mass.) and lifted her shot from outside the 18' and tucked it just under the crossbar for her first goal of the season.

The game ended in the 1-1 tie after a furry of action that resulted in three shots in overtime including one Rivier shot that hit the post.

Senior goalkeeper Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.) stopped nine of ten shots she faced in net while ENC freshman keeper Sophia Fevola (Wellington, Fla.) made three saves on four chances for her first career decision.

Next up for the Raiders will be another non-conference home contest on Friday evening as they host Massachusetts Maritime Academy at 6pm under the lights at Joanne Merrill Field. Eastern Nazarene will return to the pitch on Saturday afternoon as they host Fisher College inside Veterans Memorial Stadium at 1pm.
